Dave Smith has had a long and influential career in the synthesizer industry. From creation of his first polyphonic synthesizer in 1977, the Sequential Circuit Prophet 5, to his work at Korg with the Wavestation, to his more recent creation of the Prophet ’08, Dave has been a very busy man over the last 30 years.
All the sounds in this collection were made with a Dave Smith Instruments Mopho, recorded to a Fostex mr-8, and chopped in Ableton Live 8 on my 1.6 Ghz atom netbook. I used my FMR Audio levelling amp on some things here and there for more analog fun. The bass end, especially sporting the two sub oscillators in full effect sounds fantastic.
